A virtual tour through Ground Zero, 10 years after the 9/11– Part 1

Today is 9/11/11, 10 years ago there was a place called World trade center, now they call it Ground Zero. We all know what happened that day, when 2 hijacked planes hit right through the twin towers, not so far from the world’s business headquarters, and the very famous Wall Street, killing 3000 persons and ravaging the area, even neighbor buildings fell down. Many people wonder, how the area looks like after 10 years. I had the opportunity to be there in 7/11/11 in a tour through lower Manhattan, the financial borough of New York, I’ll take you to the big Apple in a virtual tour, via the transatlantic fiber cables, so please buckle up.

In fact, I was a bit disappointed, to find this building smaller than I expected. It seemed always taller in movies or a Financial news.

  1. Quite interesting tour! Thanks for the pictures, I had no clue how the place looks like now and actually never wandered. I avoid the news so badly on that day, can't possibly handle the comments and the whole thing around 9/11.
    It's nice to get a sight of it out of politics :)

  2. You're welcome :)
    Yeah, I tried to wander through the area on Google Earth, but it's totally different in reality. If there's something so apparent, is the degree of damage caused that day, as it took them 10 years to reach this state of advancement.

  3. It's one of a kind! You had a late vacation in NY or business? Sorry, I didn't control it :-*
    Great shots, you must be.. Either a professional or a monkey.. Or an Irish or a passionate.. Sorry again! It's becoming a disease :-*

    I only knew about the Trump building, didn't really like the greak and the 19th century architecture with the naked reinforced concrete (much expected), yet it creates a harmony with the invironnement. I hope wounds will be healed and voids will be filled .. and well, the truth will out.

    @SchellerZ: bueno trabajo :p

  4. "..environment" xD
    Another thing, SchnellerZ: who reads the great quotes under your blog's title, might get confused, and well, may think they're both A.Einstein's, whereas the first is Roosevalt's. I hope you get me.

    @Majda: Why trying to avoid news so badly? They're civilized people. All what they have shown are pictures from the memory and greeted the victims' families. Even restored the debate about the sad act of burning Qur'an. And by the way, Islamism has nothing to di with it, as Bush or watch documentaries, they're becoming more aware of this act.

    I'm curious, how whould our people act? Or should I say, react? My guess? Don't wanna share it :'(

    Salam,
    Samarcandy,
